Case Study of the Vet Dentist, Harrogate
Bob Partridge from Vet Dentist contacted me with regards to this exciting project for his leading practice in Harrogate. His new facility was like no other and I had to come up with something special to ensure my virtual tour and stills showcased such an incredible facility.
The dental operatory is equipped with the very latest state of the art CT scanner and dental units and with such an incredible facility Bob was encouraged to enter the practice into a design competition, which is where I came in.
Having discussed his requirements at length we worked collaboratively to create a truly interactive user experience that would enhance the virtual tour and showcase his business for the competition and more importantly, his website. The project was completed within two weeks in order to meet the competition deadline.
Using bespoke plugins, I was able to incorporate many interactive features, including call out labels with descriptions of all the equipment with hyperlinks to 'more info' on his website. These pages explain clearly what each piece of kit does in an engaging and aesthetically pleasing way. The hyperlinks are built into the tour within a pop-up layer so are fully responsive & scaled correctly for all devices – it's a phenomenal system.
I also incorporated a floorplan that is responsive and self-centres on the room location, again the floorplan is scaled by device and can be pinched larger or smaller on mobile or tablet devices and by using the mouse wheel on a desktop computer. Each scene has a text info box that slides down on click and its dimensions are set by device and screen orientation.
The addition of 'visited' ticks to the hotspots and thumbnails, allows the user to clearly see which areas of the tour they have viewed. Furthermore, the floor plan hotspots change colour once viewed and your current location pulses on the map. Multiple floorplan levels can also be added.
Tours are compatible across all platforms and work on Oculus type VR headsets too.
Go ahead and immerse yourself, whatever the device!
The job also required still images for the competition and website use, some of which you can see here, but to view a wider selection please visit the Stills Gallery.
